OUR DECK BUILDING PROCESS

Step 1: Design

Plan for all the ways you want to use your new outdoor living space. Do you want an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, or dining area? Decide how you want to use the deck and the features you want with it, then we’ll help you determine how the layout will look and create a blueprint for the design.

Step 2: Choose Materials

We offer wood and vinyl decking materials. Wood decking requires more maintenance, but it's more affordable and has more color options. Vinyl decking is more durable, but it is an investment and limited in colors. Choose a material that best works for your needs.

Step 3: Permitting

The Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code (PA UCC) requires that all decks 30 inches above grade have a building permit. Check with your local municipality for any other legal requirements. Our team can help you out with the permitting process.

Step 4: Site Preparation

Once permits are acquired, our team will begin to prepare the site. We’ll mark the area of the deck, then remove the topsoil to make the ground compact and set up the foundation.

Step 5: Construction

After the site is prepared, our team will construct the actual deck. Once the deck is complete, the deck will need to be inspected by a licensed professional to ensure it complies with safety requirements.
